Meet Gabriela Treviño, LCSW
Individual, Family, & Couples Therapist
Borderline Personality Disorder, Complex Trauma, & Phase of Life Specialist
My style is relational, honest, and direct. I show up as a real person in the room because I believe you can’t build a life of authenticity with someone who isn't being authentic themselves. I’ve been on my own therapy journey, and I bring that perspective into our work, knowing firsthand that growth requires both a soft place to land and a push to move forward.

About Me
I joined Healing Lane Therapy because I believe that quality care requires a therapist who is willing to be a real human being in the room. I’ve spent my career working with individuals who feel like their stories have been defined by what happened to them, rather than who they actually are. I know that the road to recovery, especially when navigating complex trauma or BPD, requires more than just clinical advice; it requires a steady, honest relationship where you feel safe enough to be challenged and seen.
I have a deep passion for working with those living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Complex Trauma or family members of those living with BPD. I have spent nearly a decade in the field of trauma-focused treatment and mental health, and have worked with people across the life span. Before joining this practice, I worked exclusively in high-intensity trauma settings, helping clients navigate the aftermath of experiences that left their nervous systems stuck in survival mode.
Whether you are an adult trying to untangle years of relationship conflict or the parent of a teen who you have noticed feels misunderstood by the world around them, I bring nine years of specialized expertise to the table. My goal is to help you or your loved one move past the "stuckness" of your past so you can finally begin to lead a life that feels stable and authentically yours.
My therapy style is relational, warm, direct, and authentic. I don’t believe in being a silent observer; I believe in building a real relationship. Clients value my honesty and the fact that I am open about having been on my own therapy journey. I’m not asking you to go anywhere I haven’t gone myself, and I show up with the belief that healing happens when you feel both deeply connected and appropriately challenged.
I am especially passionate about attachment and emotional regulation. For my teen clients, I position myself as an advocate and a teammate, not another parent or authority figure. For my adult clients, we focus on building the stability and safety within yourself that allows you to show up differently in your relationships. I believe that a consistent, honest connection is the foundation where we can work through old wounds and repair things together in real-time.
Outside of the therapy room, I understand the importance of self-care to stay grounded for my clients. I find my own balance in the quiet moments, whether that’s getting lost in a good book or tending to my garden. I live in Houston with my partner and our three dogs, who keep life joyful and at ease.
My Specialities
Therapy with me is:
-
I believe in the value of showing up as a human in the therapy room and will build a warm, real, and human relationship with you. Being able to model a secure attachment can allow you to learn your attachment style and how to form more security in relationships with others.
-
You are the expert of your life and I am here to partner with you to identify what you need to live a quality and meaningful life. We will work together to identify your personal goals and check in to ensure they are being met in our work together.
-
I believe in the value of authenticity and showing up as a real human so you can feel safe doing the same. I too have had the privilege of engaging in my own therapy and know it takes courage to show up and be vulnerable with another human.
-
Every human has unique needs and therefore every session is tailored to the needs of the individual. We will work together to ensure your goals are identified and met through our work together.
HOW DO I KNOW WE ARE A GOOD FIT?
We will likely be a good fit if —
You value a therapist who shows up as a real person.
You want to start untangling the trauma-driven patterns that keep your nervous system in survival mode so you can actually feel stable in the present.
You (or your teen) want an advocate and a teammate. You need someone in your corner who listens and challenges you, rather than another authority figure or parent giving a lecture.
You need a steady, unshakeable space. You want to navigate BPD, complex trauma, or the intense emotional cycles that affect your relationships without the fear of being judged.
You are motivated to find your voice. You’re ready to bridge the gap between "stuck" and "secure," building a life that finally feels like it belongs to you.
We will likely not be a good fit if —
You want a passive session where you drive the majority of the session. I am an active participant in your growth; if you prefer a therapist who only listens and never offers real-world feedback or a gentle push, my style might feel like too much.
You prefer a cold, formal, or highly medical environment. My approach is deeply human and relational; if you are looking for a clinical "expert" vibe, we won’t be in alignment.
You’re looking for a quick fix. Healing from trauma and building emotional regulation takes consistent effort and time; I don’t offer "overnight" solutions.
You want someone to make your decisions for you. My goal is to help you find your own agency and internal stability; I’m here to help you navigate, but you are the one in the driver’s seat.
