How individual therapy works at Healing Lane Therapy

You do not need a diagnosis to start. Many of our clients come in knowing something feels off but not quite knowing what. Here is what the process looks like:

Step 1 — Free consultation (15 min): We talk through what is going on, what you have tried, and whether we are the right fit.
Step 2 — First sessions: We schedule an initial 60-minute session to slow down and build a clear picture of your history, patterns, and goals. In this session, we will also discuss recommendations for session frequency. We typically start with weekly sessions and transition to bi-weekly as progress develops.
Step 3 — Active work: Sessions are collaborative and direct. We do not just listen, we reflect, challenge, and give feedback in real time.
Step 4 — Progress: Most clients see meaningful change within 3–6 months, though many continue longer for deeper work.

WHY WORK WITH OUR TEAM

Passionate, Experienced, and Human First.

We believe that to be a great therapist, you have to know what it feels like to be a client. Our team is made up of real people who have done their own deep inner work. We understand the vulnerability it takes to sit on the couch, the courage it takes to face painful patterns, and the relief of finally being understood. Because we’ve been there, we don’t just offer clinical interventions; we offer a space held with genuine empathy, patience, and a deep belief in your capacity to heal. We love this work, and we are fiercely committed to walking the path alongside you.

Our team brings together a wealth of expertise across the lifespan. From helping teens and young adults navigate identity, to supporting men in finding their emotional footing, to guiding clients through the complexities of trauma and personality disorders, we have a specialist dedicated to your specific needs.

Compassion is our foundation, but skill is our tool. We are highly trained in active, change-oriented modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT, mentalizing, and attachment-based approaches. We don’t just listen; we provide the structure and feedback necessary for real change.
