About Me
I've built my career around a simple belief: people deserve therapy that meets them exactly where they are, in whatever language and cultural context feels most like home to them. As a bilingual and bicultural clinician, I've spent my career bridging that gap for clients who often feel like pieces of their identity get lost in translation when they walk into a therapist's office.
I have a deep passion for supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance use, performance anxiety, and major life transitions. My clinical training has taken me through a range of settings, including The Menninger Clinic, nationally recognized for its work with complex mental health and personality disorders, Communities in Schools, where I supported students navigating trauma and life stressors, Catholic Charities, where I worked with individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges, and private practice, where I've continued to build long-term, individualized care for my clients. I've worked across every age range, children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults, and across every format, from individual and couples work to groups and full family sessions.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Houston with a clinical concentration and specialization in Health and Behavioral Health, and I was honored to be part of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and the Graduate College of Social Work's Clinical Leadership Society during my program. I've since become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician, deepening my ability to support clients working through some of the most complex relational wounds.
Whether you're navigating unresolved trauma, struggling with disordered eating, working through substance use challenges, or simply feeling stuck in a life transition you didn't see coming, I bring both clinical depth and lived cultural perspective to help you find real footing again.
My approach centers on building genuine trust and emotional safety first. I don't believe meaningful work can happen until you feel truly seen. From there, I draw on a range of tools, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic work, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices, tailoring the mix to fit you rather than asking you to fit a method.
Outside the therapy room, I've lived a life shaped by movement across cultures; I've lived abroad teaching in both English and Spanish, and I spent years traveling domestically and internationally as a Women's Youth National Team soccer player and collegiate athlete.
My Specialities
Therapy with me is:
-
I believe that feeling genuinely seen is the foundation of healing. We will build an authentic connection where your curiosity and resilience are celebrated as you rediscover your strengths.
-
We are teammates in this process. I work alongside you to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be, helping you turn your existing resilience into a tactical toolkit of evidence-based skills.
-
You are the expert on your own life, and I am here to meet you exactly where you are. My approach is tailored entirely to your unique needs, honoring your individual pace while celebrating your inherent resilience.
-
I show up as a real person in the room, not a clinical blank slate. I believe in being genuine and honest with you, creating a space where you can feel comfortable being your truest self.
HOW DO I KNOW WE ARE A GOOD FIT?
We will likely be a good fit if —
You value a warm, trauma-informed space built on genuine trust and safety. You want a therapist who creates room for you to be fully seen to support the hard work of change.
You are navigating a major life transition. Whether it's a shift in identity, a relationship change, or simply feeling stuck in a season of life, you want a therapist who understands that specific kind of challenge.
You carry heavy or complex concerns. My background treating trauma, mental illness, and eating disorders across settings means I'm not easily overwhelmed; we can look at complex presentations together without judgment.
You want a therapist who draws from a range of evidence-based tools, like CBT, DBT, trauma-informed, and mindfulness-based approaches, tailored to what actually fits your life.
You value a bilingual, bicultural perspective. Whether English or Spanish feels more like home to you, you want to work with someone who understands how culture and identity shape the way we experience struggle and healing.
We will likely not be a good fit if —
You want a passive therapist. My style is warm but active, drawing on a range of evidence-based tools to help you work through what's in front of you.
You prefer a rigid medical model. I prioritize a deeply human, person-centered connection built on trust and emotional safety. If you're looking for a formal or clinical-only experience, we won't be in alignment.
You're looking for a quick fix. Healing, especially from trauma or complex mental health struggles, is a practice of consistent growth. I don't offer overnight solutions, but I do offer a steady, culturally attuned path toward lasting well-being.
You want someone to make your decisions for you. My goal is to help you build your own self-understanding and resilience. I'm here to walk alongside you, but you're the one in the driver's seat.
