About Me
Healing Lane Therapy was born out of a personal mission to provide authentic, quality, and consistent care to those needing support. I founded this space in memory of my brother, Kory Lane. As someone who has navigated the impact of substance use and complex mental health within my own family, I know that recovery isn’t about willpower; it’s about having steady, honest therapeutic support in your corner. I’ve seen the way these struggles can rewrite a person's story, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people take back control of their narrative.
I have a deep passion for supporting those impacted by both Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Substance Use Disorders (SUD). I’ve spent over a decade in the field of complex mental health, gaining intensive training at The Council on Recovery, known for its dedication to supporting those with SUDs, The Menninger Clinic, nationally recognized for its work with personality disorders, and J. Flowers Health Institute, known for supporting those with the most complex clinical needs.
Whether you are navigating a BPD diagnosis, struggling to break a cycle of substance use, or feeling "stuck" in the transition to adulthood, I bring years of specialized expertise to ensure you aren't just surviving, but actually moving forward.
If you’re looking for a therapist who sits silently and takes notes while you talk, we probably won’t be a fit. My style is active and direct. I give more feedback and coaching than the average therapist because I believe you deserve a teammate, not a mirror.
I am especially passionate about attachment work. I believe stability isn't something you find in a book; it’s something built inside a consistent, honest relationship where we can work through conflict and repair things together. In my office, we build a real connection, one where you can take the armor off and finally be seen.
Outside of the therapy room, I understand the importance of self-care so I can continue to show up for my clients. I’ve practiced yoga for over 10 years to help slow down my own fast-moving, perfectionistic brain. When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me cycling through the streets of Houston or at home with my spouse and our two small dogs—a dachshund and a chihuahua mix.
My Specialities
Therapy with me is:
-
I believe in the value of showing up as a human in the therapy room and will build a warm, real, and human relationship with you. Being able to model a secure attachment can allow you to learn your attachment style and how to form more security in relationships with others.
-
You are the expert of your life and I am here to partner with you to identify what you need to live a quality and meaningful life. We will work together to identify your personal goals and check in to ensure they are being met in our work together.
-
I believe in the value of authenticity and showing up as a real human so you can feel safe doing the same.. I too have had the privilege of engaging in my own therapy and know it takes courage to show up and be vulnerable with another human.
-
Every human has unique needs and therefore every session is tailored to the needs of the individual. We will work together to ensure your goals are identified and met through our work together.
HOW DO I KNOW WE ARE A GOOD FIT?
We will likely be a good fit if —
You’re looking for someone direct and authentic who skips the "therapist voice" and offers real-world feedback.
You’re ready to move past repeating the same stories and want to start untangling the patterns that keep you stuck.
You want a strategic teammate to help you navigate life, not another authority figure telling you what to do.
You need a steady, unshakeable space to navigate BPD, substance use, challenging transitions, or complex trauma without fear of judgment.
You are motivated to find your momentum and start building a life that finally feels like it belongs to you.
We will likely not be a good fit if —
If you want a therapist who only nods and never challenges your old habits, my direct style might feel like too much.
If you prefer a cold, formal, or highly medical environment, my human and relatable approach won't be a match.
You’re looking for a quick fix. Growth, especially in recovery and identity, takes real work, and I don't offer "overnight" solutions.
You want someone to "manage" you. My goal is to help you find your own agency; if you want someone else to make your life decisions for you, we won’t be in alignment.
